Join the Anacostia Watershed Society and partners for our annual Earth Day Cleanup of the Anacostia River watershed.

Cleanup takes place from 8:30am to noon at sites all over the watershed. Afterward, celebrate the event at our rally from 1-2pm at Seafarers Yacht Club.

FOR VOLUNTEERS : Gloves and bags will be provided at the cleanup sites. Plan to get dirty and/or muddy. Canoes and motorized boats will serve as shuttles along the river. All river cleanup volunteers wil be required to sign a standard waiver form at time of registration.

River cleanups run 8:30am-12pm

Directions to Anacostia River Earth Day Cleanup Celebration rally at Seafarers Yacht Club
Take Kenilworth Ave. South to 295 S. Exit @ Howard Rd./Downtown. Turn left on Howard Rd. @ bottom of ramp. Turn left @ stoplight. Get on 295 N, bearing right @ 395 N/Navy Yard exit. Cross over Anacostia River Bridge and get in right lane. Exit toward 12 St., SE. Turn right onto M St. at stop sign. Continue ½ mile to Celebration site on right.

Tree Planting at Anacostia Waterfront Park - Casey Trees Endowment Fund
