Description: The purpose of this event is to document the biodiversity of the Anacostia River and its watershed. Especially in the ecosystems along the main stem of the river and surrounding areas on the MD and DC portions of the river. It will be an iNaturalist (https://www.inaturalist.org/) app-based weekend-long event where people will be able to report observations on their own using the app from anywhere in the watershed. During this event, we will explore the biodiversity of the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) forests, a federal land managed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the last century. As a result, the property has some of the watershed's most rare and unique biodiversity. All observations should be made part of the Biodiversity of the Anacostia River project on iNaturalist: https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/biodiversity-of-the-anacostia-river
