The Anacostia Watershed Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit environmental organization. Its mission is to protect and restore the Anacostia River and its watershed communities by cleaning the water, recovering the shores and honoring the heritage. Our ultimate goal is to make the Anacostia River swimmable and fishable in keeping with the Clean Water Act. Our core programs include: advocacy, education, and stewardship.
